Here's a performance by Magelllan, my singing laptop. I wrote a program called 'instant hit maker' that writes it's own songs. It searches twitter for a topic(what you want the song to be about) and compiles lyrics from twitter posts. The program calls festival to translate the text into a computer synthesized wave file. The program then calls pure data with a patch to play back the vocal tracks with random music files. The music files were made in reason and all in the key of C or A and are meant to sound cheesy songs. This project was made to make poke fun at some of the popular music of todays culture by Combining the lyrics compiled by a robot with recycled musical structures.

This is a really cool device! I love all the different technologies that you bring together with this project. Thanks for sharing it with the CAT 125 class.
